Idk where to start. I suck with money. I have a high paying job that requires me to be in the office 5 days a week. I’ve been with this company for a year and a half now. It was just a startup at the time so I didn’t want to get a car right away in case the job didn’t work out. I did the math and using Lyft was cheaper than a car + insurance payment.
Well this little startup exploded into a massive worldwide company. I have equity shares I would very much like to keep because it’s enough for me to retire early.
I paid $12-$14 one way with Lyft for a year. But just within the last 6 weeks, Lyft has been charging $20-$26 one way. This is killing my wallet. I don’t give a shit about cars so I couldn’t care less on the make or model. If I could just find a cheap ass car so all I’m paying is insurance it would be set.
This is Texas. Any advice is much appreciated. FYI I already looked into bus/bike options and neither will work.
