Where can I get those xp books? Is that generally the main way to level up ships or is there another method I’m not aware of?

Hi guys I just wanted to know how the research ship process goes?

I thought after the ship is researched you can level it up like a normal ship from the Gacha but I’ve been hearing things about fate simulation and a bunch of other stuff. Is the progression for research ships different?
