Overbuilt Timberframe plans?
Hey all. I'm looking to DIY my own 12x12 gazebo thing so I'm on the search for plans. I came across this one: https://timberframehq.com/shop/12x12-timber-frame-gazebo-plan/ but it uses 8x lumber for everything. 8x8 posts, 8x10 plates, 4x8 rafters and it just seems way overbuilt. Do I need to readjust my expectations for what the scale of this thing will be? Or are there other plans out there that I'm not finding that don't include the "traditional" lumber frame look of heavy beams?
