Someone told me this tree in my backyard is an Oleander, and that it is toxic.

They said every part, leaves, flowers, sap, and roots.

They told me it contains cardiac glycosides and to keep pets/kids from chewing debris, avoid sap exposure, wash hands after pruning, and not to compost trimmings into edible garden beds.

Is this a toxic tree? My 4 yo plays with the fallen flowers all the time!

Sourcing A Goumi Berry Plant.

Hey there! I’ve been having trouble locating a plant I want for my home garden.

I have been looking for a Goumi Berry plant. Though it’s rated for zones 4-8, the system I have set up for my raised bed garden is perfect for it, and my garden could benefit from it’s nitrogen fixing abilities (and the berries are delicious!)

I’ve called Hafen Nursery, Moon Nursery, and Star Nursery as well. No one carries it and no one is willing to order it.

Anyone have a lead on a 1-5 gallon sized Goumi Berry plant?

New to growing, how does my bean sprout look?

I’ve had a few disheartening false starts and disasters trying to grow in Henderson, NV. But this little guy finally popped up! Does he look ok?

Working with a bottom layer of branches and other yard trimmings that have been buried since my first attempts since last season I put a layer of blood meal to compensate for any nitrogen loss from the decaying wood layer. Compost, soil, worm castings, Olla watering system (although that’s getting an upgrade soon.) Mulch on top.

Lil guy is the only one out of three rows I planted to pop up and say hello so far. Hoping for insights to either stay the course or change something up for the others.
