Ableton Beginner Absolutely Lost
Hey Everyone, I've been thinking of starting to compose some songs, So I did the 1 month free trial in Ableton.
I've played piano for almost 15 years, I'm very inspired by techno, trance, acid artists, like Ki/Ki, Ueberrest, Pegassi, Somewhen.
My ears are pretty trained to create my own tracks (theory wise). My biggest problem is understanding the software. I'm absolutely lost. I made a subscription for Splice, and a rent-to-own for Serum 2.
I saw some people saying not to get too attached to just sampling, as it takes away the aspect of creating your own sound. I'm very attached to this merit, so I understand. I'd like my sound to be completely mine (mostly).
I would really appreciate any tips for starting though. Most of the beginner videos just show how to do House songs, or other genres, using sounds straight from the software, and not how to apply the samples from Splice, or how to reverse engineer the sounds in Serum (in order to understand how they work).
Maybe I'm thinking the wrong way, I'm completely open to any tips! On how to start, maybe helpful videos which I haven't found. Thanks!!
