Impact of dual PCIe 5 x8 vs dual PCIe 5 x16 for dual Rtx 6000 pro max-q

i have an existing system with:
Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO LGA1700
Intel Core i9-14900K
G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 2x48GB DDR5 6800MHz CL34 (x2, 4 sticks in total), right now im running only 2 sticks.

The issue with my motherboard it doesn’t support dual gpu in 16x mode, it changes the pice 5 to 8x.

The alternative is to change to brand new Threadripper PRO that supports multiple PCIe 5 at x16, but it would make the cost much higher than expected at this moment.

My question is: how bad the difference would be between dual 8x and x16 running inference with vllm and graphic generation and LoRA (flux.2, z-image, video generation, etc).

Appreciate the help 🙏

Dual RTX 6000, for Deepseek v4 Flash???

My last post got a lot of interaction asking 6000 pro owners if they regretted, the answer was hard NO.

I ended up understanding that dual rtx 6000 pro run deepseek v4 flash extremely fast.

I went to the near stores and got offers around $50-60k for dual rtx 6000 pro ai server.

Once again, im trying to understand your logic 😂

What in the world could justify $60k for running Deepseek?

I could understand maybe cyber security vulnerabilities research and video rendering for graphic agency.

What am i missing?

rtx 6000 pro owners, do you regret?

I found the last dealership in my area that has rtx 6000 pro available, i already wanted to buy it 6 months ago when it was around $8k, now prices increased to $13k ish.

Regardless the price, are you happy with it? I assume you are using qwen3.6 27b, is it worth it?

Please share your experience and hopefully help me to avoid explaining my wife this transaction 😂
