Therapist says there's no other treatment for trauma besides EMDR
This is the third therapist I've had who is fixating on implementing EMDR when i have a preference not to participate in it. I've had two therapist sneak it into our sessions after I've told them i don't want to do it. I had one of the therapist tell me she's NEVER had anyone who didn't like it - which i find bizarre. This therapist told me there is few, if no other treatments besides EMDR for trauma. She told me i didn't want to do anything in therapy strictly because i don't want to do EMDR, and I'm hesitant about TMS.
I have no problems if other people want to do EMDR, or whether therapist recommend it, or practice it, but If it's your main tool than maybe let me know we may not be a good fit. Don't persistently bring it up.
Ive asked for a new therapist to treat me.
