What can I improve before ED2?(NOT A CHANCE-ME POST)
Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply to NYU Abu Dhabi ED2, and I’d really appreciate honest feedback on my profile. I mainly want to know what I can improve, strengthen, add, clarify, or prioritize before submitting my application.

- I am planning to apply test-optional
- I have not taken IELTS yet, but I will take it before applying.
Background
- Egyptian, currently living in Abu Dhabi, UAE
- First-generation college student
- Intended major: Bioengineering
- I will be applying for substantial financial aid and will try to obtain a full-ride package, if possible.
Extracurriculars
- Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) — accepted with a full scholarship/full ride to my first-choice session (IST).
- (Apple Certification / App Development) — completed the Apple certification program; achieved the highest exam score in my class and won Best Project for building a trial app. The project was selected by college professors/doctors. (full scholarship)
- ADNOC Engineering Department Internship — selected for an engineering work-placement program in ADNOC Refining. Only 10 students nationwide were selected for the engineering department internship.
- 300+ volunteering hours — through the Volunteering UAE app, my school, and the Egyptian Red Crescent.

Honors / Awards
- iOS Design Challenge — selected from 1,300+ applicants, with around 300 winners; national-level.
- Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition — 1st Place, International Level.
- Abu Dhabi Engineering College Hackathon — 1st Place. Also, our team ranked among the Top 10 nationally in the CEO STEM Programming with AI Competition at Abu Dhabi University.
- National Top 10 Student Project — selected among the top 10 student projects nationally and our project was presented to the UAE Minister of Education.
I have several other awards/achievements that I haven't decided whether to include as my fifth honor.
For the team-based projects and competitions I mentioned, I took the lead in all of them and was responsible for leading my teams throughout the projects.
I can’t go into the details of every project here, but most of the projects and competitions I mentioned above are related to engineering, AI in healthcare, and the biomedical field, so they also align closely with my intended major.
Other
I also participated in Columbia University's SEM Enrichment Month and in the 5th Annual Astronomy Camp hosted by the NYUAD Center for Astrophysics and Space Science. I'm not sure whether they are worth including in my application given my other activities, so I'd appreciate opinions on whether it adds meaningful value.
Also, I know my actual Common App activity descriptions will be more detailed and specific than the summaries above this is just to give an overview of my profile.
Again, I’m not asking for a chance-me or an acceptance prediction. I’d genuinely like to know:
What can I improve, strengthen, remove, clarify, or add before applying ED2?
Any honest advice from current NYUAD students, applicants, or people familiar with the admissions process would be really appreciated. Thank you!
