Saw this post on Singapore subReddit.

Because there is a deluge of applications from desperate Indians and many don’t even read job description or criteria and apply anyway, it seems most companies reject all Indian applicants outright.

In our eagerness to go anywhere but India, people are hurting chances of well-qualified Indians who get rejected because their countrymen will go to any lengths to get a Singapore position. Absolute lowest self esteem. Like no one is stopping you from applying for jobs abroad but least you could do is to apply where you are qualified and make the cut.

If this happened in India, I can already imagine hundreds of stories and threads of being a hellhole, rape capital, Indian men scum of the earth, Indian police the worst the most corrupt etc. I don’t deny that we have women safety issues and cultural issues, of course we do and must improve that. But the immediate dump everyone (western AND Indian media and netizens) takes on a news story like this in India is appalling and absolute racist. Brown sepoys come in the comments section by hoards and say it’s way more common in India and we deserve the tag of hellhole etc, without checking the crime stats in other countries and cities. Gun crimes, murders, crime against women and minors etc are way more rampant elsewhere compared to many cities in India, yes even including Delhi. Epstein files exist in Western hemisphere and don’t earn these countries a tag of hellhole and pedophile capital etc anywhere.
