About 30 minutes ago I got up from my bed and brushed my teeth. As I was brushing I felt what I thought was a papercut (stinging and a very small cut), but as time went on, the stinging got stronger. I noticed that the cut was turning white, and watched the white spread from the cut, down into my nail bed. I washed my hands with plain warm water and let it run under my nail where the throbbing pain and burning sensation was spreading to. Then the pain got worse, and at this point, whiteness had spread down my nail. I generally tote a pretty high pain tolerance, but this hurts badly. And I don't understand why it turned white.
The pain and whiteness all happened within a matter of 10 minutes. I've been trying to ice it lightly, but it makes the pain worse.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
