If humanity could only send ONE album to aliens to represent human music, what should it be?
I’ve been thinking about this thought experiment:
Aliens arrive tomorrow. They ask humanity one question: “We want to understand human music. You may give us one album.”
Not an artist’s entire catalog. One album.
For me, it’s probably one The Dark Side of the Moon because it feels bigger than just music. It captures anxiety, time, greed, death, beauty, isolation, and wonder all in one cohesive experience. Even if you didn’t understand English, I feel like you’d still emotionally understand it.
