How come most people will go to hell?

I am a muslim born and raised in muslim/arab countries, I now live in a non muslim country and this has made me wonder how come most people will be eternally punished.

Most muslims are born muslims, yes there are lots of converts but 99.9% of non muslims won’t ever convert to islam, why is it that we as humans deserve an eternal punishment for a temporary life?

If you look at map, islam is geographically rooted between the middle east, upper half of Africa, central Asia and near the edge of europe. It has been historically so far away from countries like Japan or South America.

I think to myself and I would say it is very likely I wouldn’t have become muslim if I wasn’t born one, not because I don’t believe but rather it’s a big, hard, and unusual step for someone from a non muslim society to turn their life around to islam, especially that they were born and raised to believe something different.

I am asking out of genuine curiosity.

Why are people with more money less religious?

I noticed that in arab countries in general, not just Jordan but also others like Egypt tend to be less religious and more westernized.

They are in a lot of cases much more liberal and are less religious, things like drinking alcohol are more common and they don’t really care about religion much except for like fasting.
