This "Cubus" game starts simple, then slowly turns against you. I wanted to see how far I could push minimalist arcade gameplay in Unity 6.

As founder of Blekol Games, I started building this game as a small experiment during late nights because I missed the feeling of simple arcade games that slowly pull you into a kind of focused calmness.
What surprised me most during development was how fun it became to tune tiny details. Movement speed, visual rhythm, difficulty escalation, even how long a moment of silence should last before the music builds again. The goal slowly shifted from “making a hard game” into creating something that feels strangely immersive and relaxing while still getting more intense over time.
The game is called Cubus, and the core idea is that the world gradually reacts more aggressively the better you play. I’ve been trying to make the progression feel natural instead of unfair. Please note that there is no tutorial or help for you in this game. You will do what feels natural while gameplay.

One of my favorite parts lately has been working on the adaptive soundtrack system. The music layers crossfade dynamically depending on gameplay intensity, using multiple synchronized tracks in E minor with blues guitar, synth bass, and electronic percussion. I’m also experimenting with dynamic difficulty scaling, collectible-based mechanics, and seamless scene-persistent audio systems in Unity 6.
Still early and evolving, but I’d genuinely love feedback on the atmosphere, gameplay feel, pacing, or anything that stands out.
As an indie developer my studio is Blekol Games. Check it out, let me know what you think.
