Opening Discs now takes significantly longer after my computer fell off my desk - help
So, last night a wire got tangled with the wheels of my chair and it yanked my computer off the desk. I have a Asus Blu-Ray reader/writer I use for discs with MKV - it did not fall, but the cord connecting it to the PC was ripped out of the USB port on the PC tower. Initially, Windows wouldn't recognize the device but eventually after plugging it in carefully it did. Now, it takes a SIGNIFICANTLY longer time to open discs. It used to open a disc in MKV in about 10-12 seconds. Now, if I'm lucky it's 2-5 minutes. It still makes the files with the same quality and time as usual, but it's definitely considerably slower opening the discs. And while it couldn't open a rare disc here or there, it has failed to read 2 discs already out of about 8 tried. It seems the PC fall has affected it somehow. Would trying a new cord help? Changing ports? Is there an easy fix to make it work as it has done before?
