Went fishing and caught a big one.

I went thrifting yesterday. Most of the time I find nothing when going to thrift stores. The few times I do find uranium glass at thrift stores I’ll find some plain green cups or plates. But this time I found this incredible Murano vaseline figurine and it was on sale! Yeah a piece of the tail is chipped off but I can’t complain for paying so little for a Murano. Even though thrift stores can be pretty unreliable when it comes to finding unique uranium glass if any uranium glass at all, just goes to show that you gotta be patient when fishing if you wanna catch something good. Literally my greatest thrift score yet!

My oldest pieces; my collection of Campbell, Jones & Co. vaseline glass in #720 pattern. Produced from 1884 to 1886.

I love this pattern since it has stars, squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles all intricately connected. Unfortunately it’s very hard to come by.

Estate sale score!

Had to camp out at the estate sale location before the sun was even up so that I was first in line lol.

Catch and Release. Two foot long vaseline Murano hand worth more than the average US monthly mortgage. 🙃

Spotted it in La Jolla, (The Beverly Hills of San Diego.) Now you know why it’s so expensive lol.

Twas a rich and bountiful harvest down at the estate sale.

This estate sale was literally advertised as, “Antique Hoarder’s House.” I managed to get all the pieces that I was looking for. My favorite piece that I got is the 1892 silver dollar vase that only cost me $14. The last photo shows some of the catch and releases at the estate sale that I left behind as there was too much glass for me to even count.

Pre WWII globe with jadeite base

Yeah the globe part is a little banged up but since it was only $40 I can’t complain. You can tell it’s from before WWII by how different so many national boundaries are different from today. Plus some countries that no longer exist as well as other countries that now do exist, but don’t appear on this globe.

When I first saw the photos posted online for this single estate sale in my local area I knew I had to be the first in line if I wanted these. I showed up to the location of the sale at 4am and camped out on the side of the road until opening. Paid about $200 for everything. The sleep deprivation was totally worth it!

If anyone knows the name of the artist that made this bottle please feel free to let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.
