Was flagged down by the excavators today about a wire they dug up, some unusual lead jacketed cable. I've heard of lead jacketed cable in older homes, but not this big. It's 5/8" in diameter, packed with twine between the two inner wires. Inner wires appear to be #10. Anyone know what this could've been used for? It's at a small regional airport, so I was thinking signal wire for old runway lighting, or maybe a predecessor to UF.
