Middle Themed E.G.O.
Hey there, Little Bro who fell from the District 11 Nest into the Middle. Been postin' here a while and I noticed some of y'all got these Superpowers called E.G.O.. Apparently the periods between each letter are necessary or somethin'?
Anyways, I've been curious about a few things...like...I get that gettin' those superpowers ain't a pleasant experience, and not to be wished on even yer Vengeance targets, but like...do y'all...pick yer power, or does it just sorta...randomly generate?
Either way, mind's been racin' on ideas of what an E.G.O. That exemplifies everything the Middle's about would look like. Both the good parts and the bad. Y'all got ideas yerself? Might make fer a fun thought experiment to yap about over drinks if nothin' else. I'll even start with my own idea. Prolly not totally gettin' how this E.G.O. stuff works, but I only know what I've been told by others, yanno?
Imagine a big coat made of chains held to ye by a pair of talons that dig into yer shoulders. Those chains would then be attached to the chains wrapped around yer arms and legs, seemin' to bind ye up. But the more ye resist the chains, the more they coil around ye, and build up around the limb. You let the chain pull you instead of pullin' against the chains, ye'll find the chains going slack and yer limb's free to use all that pent up energy all at once to really give a whallop, or block somethin' way above yer pay grade. My idea centers around the idea that we're all bound together and restricted by the codes and social conduct of The Middle, and it can be legitimately stifling at times. Think about the Vengeances the Book requires for the very minor offenses. Y'all gotta do it cos that's the path we chose. Those bindings are also what make us our strongest selves. The chain-links that are our many many Siblings come together to make a Syndicate that rivals the Corporations of The City! Even the weakest links are supported by dozens of others that reinforce it into something sturdy and dangerous.
