Dating in Senegal: money is just too present!

As a Senegalese man in his thirties whose entourage keeps pressuring about marriage, I don't want to rush things (so many divorces around me after millions of warougar given, a huge loss!). I want to know the person, check personalities, even when I'm very attracted to them.

One thing that bothers me is that the women often ask me for money when we start dating (family events, their medical needs, their cosmetics that just finished, help for Tabaski/Magal/etc.). Maybe I'm overreacting but having lived in Europe and East Africa, I have a hard time with this. I've lived in Dakar most of life so I know the culture but It seems too transactional at times and it doesn't help that many women have a hard time holding a deep conversation (we'll leave that for another day).
