Moving from agency to in-house role

I'm a PharmD currently working in a market access marketing manager role (3 YOE) at a life science consultancy supporting 1 client account working across several products in multiple therapeutic areas.

I recently received an offer to move into an in-house role (adjacent role/title) at a small biopharma that has 1 commercial product in onc.

The offer is roughly 20% higher than my current base, but there's been discussion of me getting a raise followed by a mid-year promo at my current role. The consultancy has gone through multiple RIFs in the past year, but I believe my role is relatively safe.

I rather like my current role and team, but my primary career goals at the moment are to:

  1. Continue building strong market access experience

  2. Eventually move into a strategy role

  3. Maximize long-term earning potential

Some questions I have considered:

  • Is now the right time to move to the manufacturer side, or would it be better to stay in consulting longer and reach AD level first?

  • How valuable is manufacturer-side experience compared with consulting experience when pursuing strategy roles?

  • Would moving from supporting 7 products to only 1 product be viewed as a step forward or backward from a career development perspective?

Thank you!

Worrisome leaves

It has been an abnormally hot summer in Southern California. Are these plumeria leaves a result of extreme sun exposure or lack of sunlight water?

We typically water the plant every 3 days.
