I’m interested in becoming a software engineer and wanted to ask for advice from people who are already in the field or studying it
I’m currently in my last year of university studying CIS (Computer Information Systems), and before I graduate I’d like to take a few courses that will actually help me in my career. I’m still not completely sure which specialization I want to pursue.
If you were starting from scratch, what courses would you recommend taking? Which topics or technologies do you think are essential (programming, data structures, algorithms, databases, web development, cloud, etc.)?
I’d also love to know which courses or certifications helped you the most, and which ones you’d skip if you could start over.

Not long ago I decided to get an industrial piercing
Since it’s a more complicated piercing I went to a clinic near my university here in Jordan I told the doctor what I wanted and he said he could do it
What caught me off guard was that he asked me to take off my hijab completely I’m a hijabi and I didn’t understand why that would be necessary when he only needed access to my ear
I told him I could just move my hijab aside enough for him to work on my ear but he insisted Then he said “Well, it doesn’t matter. It seems like you’d take it off anyway”
I took that as him implying that because I wanted that type of piercing I’d end up taking off my hijab anyway.
I ended insisting not to take off my hejab and work on my ear side only
But I honestly found the comment unnecessary and like it’s just a piercing
Am I overreacting or was his behavior inappropriate?

Hey I’m trying to decide between two courses and I would want your opinion on which one do I take
I’m in college studying CIS
Option 1 is a Network Systems Engineer track, which covers CCNA (networking and server management) and AZ-800 (Windows Server and cloud infrastructure) along with a free cybersecurity course.
Option 2 is a Data Science & AI Specialist track, which covers Python, Large Language Models, Microsoft Power BI, machine learning, and TensorFlow accredited by a British certification body.
Which one do you think is better or more worth it
