I have a quite old seagate basic 4 TB hard drive i bought a few years back and up until yesterday, it was plugged into my laptop, being used for the last few months. I didn’t notice any issues with it, but I plugged it into my desktop yesterday and it gave me a notification saying the drive had an issue and it would scan the drive and attempt to fix it whenever i started my desktop. I did some checks and did not find any issues. everything says the drive is fine. I’ve noticed though that when I was updating a game, it took a really long time to patch files and the disk usage speed was extremely low. does anyone know a fix for this? Thanks.
