Like the title implies, I picked up Ivalice Chronicles on Steam recently after hearing everyone I know and on Reddit praise the game. I've only made it to the Dorter Slums in Chapter 1 but the game's felt unwieldy at best and just kinda unfair at times at worst.

The job system and the story are kinda promising but the actual combat just kinda feels like a slog where I'm just turtling through a map trying to deal with keeping up units who're eating attacks that do half their health before they can take a single action.

Are there any tips y'all have, anything I should know? Is it normal to grind a lot for JP or exp? Is it not worth and and should I just bump the difficulty down or if I can't handle it this early should I just drop the game?
