Photopass not exactly worth it

Thought I’d share my experience with photopass.

I purchased the 30 day photo pass because I was gonna be in the park for six days and it was either pay for five days only and miss a day or pay a little extra for the month even if I only needed it for 6. This was done. Silly but fine.

I wanted to get the photo pass because I like taking pictures in the park, especially because I dress up and character bound. I always got the pictures for Disney so I was hoping the experience would be the same. I did some research and I got a lot of mixed reviews. I decided to just take the chance and do it.

Honestly I don’t think I’d do it again. Not many rides have photo opportunities which is unfortunate. There’s also not a whole lot of photographers in the park but when you do find one there’s a little to no line which was nice. That being said most of the pictures that I took with an actual person includes a universal themed frame/border that is not well thought out at all. Half the time it cuts off half my head. I could be wrong, but I cannot seem to edit the pictures and remove these borders.

In IoA and UO there are a few automated photo booths which connect easily to your photopass account. Some didn’t work for me but it is what it is. In EPIC they are horrible. When you take a picture using the automated booth, you scan a QR code and you can purchase the picture, but if you have already purchased photopass you cannot just simply download the picture. You have to go to the front of the park to the Photopass desk and have them linked for you. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Not only that, but I wish the automated photo boxes would tell you where to stand or at least tell you what to expect because when I took the one in Isle of Berk I was leaning against the fence with my arms spread out and the picture ended up being completely photoshopped so it just looks like I’m floating and pasted on there. This was really disappointing because the background already looks nice. I don’t know why they had to edit in a fake one.

The website is also not very user-friendly. There is no select all so I have to go one by one and page by page to select each picture to download. It also doesn’t download as a picture, it downloads into my files app which I then have to save to my pictures on my phone. That is if downloading it the first time works( it doesn’t)

Im not mad I did it but wouldn’t do it again. I only had 91 pictures (most are MULTIPLE poses from the 4 photographers I found in the park) compared to Disney where I had over 1000(counting my friends pictures too)
