Apologies I’m not an iOS developer.

What I've noticed when signing into aids such as Gmail is that a web view is shown. On the top right it has a menu button (a square on top of two lines) which after pressing shows a menu at the bottom. The main entry is “Increase Privacy Protections”.

My first question is What does it do?
My second question, if site data such as cookies are stored in the app, what effects does selecting this option have since it would have already received the extra signals and can’t be deleted without uninstalling the app?
