Any solo travel tips?
Hi everyone!
I’m 27F and I’m going to Thailand in about a month and a half. I’ll be visiting my partner’s family towards the end of my trip, but before that I want to spend about two weeks travelling around southern Thailand on my own.
They live in Khon Kaen, so I’d really like to use those two weeks to see a completely different side of Thailand. I’m Dutch and my English is pretty good. I’m also quite comfortable approaching people and meeting others when I get the feeling they’re open to it, so I’d love to stay somewhere where it’s possible to meet other travellers and maybe make some friends along the way.
I’m just not sure which places to choose yet! Since I’ll need to fly to Khon Kaen for the last week, it would be really convenient if my final destination had a direct flight there. I was thinking Phuket for that reason.
For the start of my trip, I was thinking about Krabi since it has direct flights from Bangkok. I’m also interested in Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta.
Does this sound like a good route for two weeks? And are there any other places you’d really recommend? I’d rather not spend half the trip travelling from one place to another, so I’m looking for a nice balance between seeing different places and actually having time to enjoy them.
Any suggestions are very welcome! ❤️
Thanks!
