Kept seeing people mix these two up so did a proper side-by-side instead of going off notes lists alone. EDP: Akigalawood is the star, basil and vetiver keep it fresh, timur pepper gives it that tingly aromatic thing. Bright, clean, works any time of day, doesn't demand attention but holds up fine on its own. Extrait: completely different mood. Pink/black pepper opening, rose absolute in the heart (wasn't expecting that), then balsam fir and labdanum take it dark and resinous. Way heavier, way more longevity, feels like a cold-weather fragrance specifically. They don't feel redundant owning both — EDP for day, Extrait for night, not just "the same thing but stronger." EDP is the more versatile of the two if you're only grabbing one. Extrait is worth it if you already know you like woody-ambers and want more depth. Getting the same day/night split from these that a lot of reviews mention, which tracks with what Essential Parfums seems to have been going for with the reformulation.

Picked up a bottle of Anelo a few weeks back and wanted to see how it wears past the hype. Opening is pineapple and pomelo just going at it, mandarin keeping it from turning into a smoothie. Ginger in the heart is doing more work than people give it credit for, it's the thing keeping the mango from going flat. Dry-down is where the Erba Pura/Aventus comparisons make sense — amber, patchouli, vetiral base — but honestly the fruit up top makes it feel like its own thing, not a clone of anything. Longevity's better than I expected for how loud the opening is. $260 is steep, not gonna pretend it's not, but it doesn't smell like it's coasting on the Swiss niche premium either. Anyone compared it side by side with Vibrato? That's the other one people keep bringing up.

UAE exclusive, never officially sold in the US or Europe, and somehow better than everything Armani released publicly. Less sweet than Intensely, less powdery than Absolutely — just creamy saffron, warm chestnut, and genuinely beautiful sandalwood. Feels closer to niche than designer honestly.

Discontinued now which is a shame. Anyone else tracked this one down?

Okay so I blind bought this and I'm not even mad about it.

Wasn't expecting much honestly — "stellar silk" sounds like it could be a basic sandalwood musk. It's not.

The cardamom opening is actually really good, spicy without being aggressive, and then it just melts into this warm creamy skin scent that I can't stop smelling on my wrist.

It's quiet. Like intentionally quiet. Not for everyone but if you get it, you get it.

Anyone else tried the BDK Absolu line? Curious what people think of Oud Paradisio and Silver Ceremony too.

Picked this up recently and wasn't sure what to expect tbh. Kayali can go either way for me.

This one's actually good though. The pear is real — not that fake synthetic candy pear you get in half the fruity fragrances out there. More like actual dewy ripe fruit, slightly tart at first. Settles into something warmer and softer after maybe 30 minutes without going full floral on you. Dry-down is just soft musk and warmth, nothing crazy but it works.

Performance surprised me for the price point. Solid 6-7 hours on skin, decent projection early on. Not a beast but doesn't need to be for what it is.

Only thing — if you're not into soft fruity stuff this won't convert you. It's squarely in that lane. But if that's your thing, it's one of the better ones I've smelled recently in this space.

Been wearing Blue Sapphire pretty regularly for the past few months and I don't get why this house doesn't come up more. Every single time I wear it out someone asks what it is. Had a guy actually follow me across a parking lot once.

Boadicea doesn't get talked about enough on here and I've never understood why. Anyone who's actually smelled it tends to get it immediately. Blue Sapphire specifically hits this saffron-rose-agarwood combination that manages to feel regal without being stiff or old-fashioned. The dry-down is the best part — genuinely lasts forever and shifts into something warmer and more intimate after a couple hours.

I think the price problem is real though. You can find it in the US but good luck finding it at a fair price — most places are charging full retail or close to it. That's the thing with Boadicea, the margin doesn't really exist anywhere unless you know where to look.

Anyone else here actually wearing Boadicea? Curious if the rest of the Sapphire collection is worth exploring or if I'm just in a honeymoon phase with this one.
