Question of the Week (August 19, 2026)

There’s a lot of things to criticize MLB for, but I think one of the better moves the league has made in recent years is the trip to Dyersville for the Field of Dreams Game

We’ve seen quite a few MLB games in a variety of locations for awhile now, but I want you to put your commissioner hat on for a moment

What would your idea be for a neutral site MLB game? Gimme your realistic or unrealistic options!

My realistic choice: Eau Claire’s Carson Park. It’s where Hank Aaron’s career got started and it would be a great venue between Atlanta and Milwaukee to honor the legend.

Unrealistic: lean into the backyard baseball/wiffleball games these players grew up playing. Remember yours friend house whose yard bumped up to two other yards, one with a picket fence and one with a chain link fence? Yeah, lean into that. Remember that oak tree that was in foul territory but the branches hung over the field? Those were in play! Lean into that! This would obviously never happen but a man can dream!

What are your thoughts??

Question of the Week (August 12, 2026)

I wanted to keep this week's question quite simple.

Following this weekend's Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement, what uniform, piece of equipment, or aesthetic related to any sport would you enshrine in the UniWatch Hall of Fame?

I'll admit, I'm a sucker for an old wooden dome and for that reason, here's a twofer:

The Eagle River, Wisconsin Dome

The Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan (fun fact, I made my wife make a pit stop here while we were on a trip through the UP once. I just had to see the place in person.)

What are your nominees?

Question of the Week (August 5, 2026)

The MLB trade deadline has come and gone. If you're a Dodgers fan, congratulations! If you, like me, are a fan of any of the other 29 MLB franchises - hey, at least we tried!

I kid, somewhat.

My questions this week are simple:

What's a trade your favorite team made at the deadline that excited you the most? Which one broke your heart the most? How did those deals
turn out?

As a Brewer fan, the obvious one is CC Sabathia putting the Crew on his back for the 2008 postseason run to break the playoff drought. He is forever one of my favorite players for that very reason!

One of the most heartbreaking moments was when the front office shipped Carlos Lee (El Caballo!) to Texas at the 2005 deadline. He was one of the lone bright spots on those brutal early-to-mid 2000s teams (and a young me's favorite player!) Lee carved out some nice seasons with the Astros afterwards, but the biggest bite to Brewers fans was
Milwaukee including a prospect named Nelson Cruz in the trade... hindsight is 20/20, obviously, but that one hurts!

What are your trade wins and losses? What about other sports? Fire away

Question of the Week (July 29, 2026)

The big news in the sports world this past week was LeBron James announcing his decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

This will mark the fourth unique franchise James has played for and allows him to potentially forge his way into new territory. Currently, James is one of four NBA players to win a championship with three
separate franchises. Nobody has ever won a title with four...

My point being - LeBron has made major impacts with every team he's played with in his long career. You can make a very strong case that you can't associate LeBron with any one single team like you could for Michael Jordan. (Yes, I'm aware of his stint with Washington, but let's be real, when you think of MJ you think of the Chicago Bulls)

That leads me to my question this week:

Who's the best player you can think of, in any sport, that you associate with more than one franchise?

To start, I'll make a case for Deion Sanders. He became a young, flashy sensation in Atlanta, had his best professional season as a member of the San Francisco 49ers (winning DPOY and the Super Bowl), and then signed a mega contract with Dallas, where he won another Super Bowl and made a couple more All-Pro teams.

Fire away with your thoughts!

Question of the Week (July 22, 2026)

I’m a very casual soccer fan… By that I mean I really only watch the World Cup.

I was surprised to learn this year’s tournament was only Spain’s second ever win! And I was more surprised to learn that before their win in 2010, Spain didn’t have a history of deep runs during the World Cup.

What teams/schools/clubs do you have a perception of that history doesn’t exactly support?

For example, as a kid who began paying attention to sports in the early to mid 2000s, I always assumed Duke and UConn had been blue blood programs forever. I was stunned to learn neither school had won a championship until the 90s. I’d always assumed they both had racked up a few in the 40s, 50s, or 60s to garner such reputations.

Conversely, I know how much history both the Miami Dolphins and Oakland/LA/Oakland again/Las Vegas Raiders have. But neither franchise has won a playoff game since before I could read.

What are your thoughts? Fire away!

NOTE: I’m happy to post these each week to bring back the feel of the UW Question of the Week. I’ll try to keep them somewhat topical. If you have suggestions for future questions, please let me know!

Question of the Week?

Mike’s weekly column was one of my favorites. Would there ever be interest in it coming back to this sub?
