Funeral Reimbursement
Who would be reimbursed for funeral costs during a small estate based on the following:
- funeral home put a different relatives name as paying for my dads funeral costs with their credit card from an account that I received after my dad passed and now own, however the bank statements show it coming from my account. The bank account was transferred via POD and is not subject to the probate process.
Has anyone dealt with something like this? Trying to figure out if I need my aunt to sign and say she doesn’t want to be reimbursed, do I need to pay my aunt the amount, or do I get reimbursed since I have proof it came from an account that I own per the bank statements? Online I read that you have to have proof of payment which would align more with my bank statements.
