I have been playing guitar for about 8 years. I played straight guitar into amp for about 6 years (no pedals/effects). And have had an NUX MG-30 for the last 12 months.

I run that into my amp to get my effects (chorus,OD, etc). My question is it worth getting an actual pedalboard? I feel it is probably personal preference at the end of the day. But is there actually a difference in the effects?
