I’m looking for gritty grimy horror that shows the consequences of pollution through monsters—monsters emerging out of pollution, being born out of it, or simply being it such as in the case of a toxic beast.

The only stories I can think of are annihilation, Godzilla, and the Metro series. Are there any more?

Taking fiction and nonfiction, im looking for a discussion on pollutants and the people who suffer from them, including damaged ecologies. Anything from critical cyberpunk to realistic stories of resistance/survival to scary eldritch goopy smog monsters. For fiction, I would love horror. For nonfiction, i would love anything educational from general environmental science to academic case studies on plants, pollutants, and ecosystems.

Modified, altered, or affected bodies is also a plus: cyborgs, disabilities, mutations, etc.
