Laptop Repair Centres
Hello everyone!
I have an HP Pavilion 15 gaming laptop, and it is not recognizing my second RAM stick. I have two 16GB sticks installed, but Task Manager only shows one.
I opened it up to check if there were any bent pins in the RAM slot, but I couldn't find any. I blew it out with compressed air and also used IPA to clean the slot, but I had no luck with that either.
I took it to some service centers in my home country, and they said they had to replace the motherboard. They quoted me a price almost as high as the laptop itself without even looking at it (scam). I'm no expert, but I do know my way around PCs, and CPU-Z recognizes both memory sticks' serial numbers. If the motherboard were the problem, I assume it wouldn't recognize the second stick at all. Because of this, I think the problem is just the RAM slot, which needs to be repaired or replaced. I am aware mobo might still be the problem but did not want to replace without a diagnosis.
I would appreciate it if somebody could suggest a good service center that actually listens to customers.
Thanks in advance!
