Intriguing article today in the WSJ which shows the 4% rule works in 81.5% of cases but the strategy fails far more often when there is high inflation, a prolonged market slump, when your portfolio is too conservative, or if you have 1% advisory fees. Anybody using the 4% rule or are there better retirement strategies?
