Yes Yuji caused both explosions
I keep seeing people saying that Tsurugi caused one of the explosions and that annoyed me so much I had to make this post because I've read this chapter over 20 times and it's LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE for Tsurugi to have caused the 2nd explosion.
First off when Yuji and Tsurugi both get ready to attack if you actually look at the panels Tsurugi is only getting into his stance while Yuji has already thrown his attack. You can even see the attack lines showing the dismantle coming from Yuji's fingers.
Second off if you look at Tsurugi and Maru's positioning, Maru is in front of Tsurugi and behind the curse spirits. So if Tsurugi wants to hit the curse spirits He also had to hit Maru first. We are talking about a curse energy slash that would have to be 9km wide and has the height of multiple buildings to have hit all those curse spirits. It is physically impossible for Tsurugi to have hit those curses and not hit Maru. It was just be a complete plot hole.
Then there's the obvious discrepancy that after the explosion Tsurugi is still in the exact same pose as before. People love to say he just took the same pose again but we never even saw him swing in the first place so that would just be making up fanfiction. If you actually read what's on the page Tsurugi never swings until after the explosion. One look at the panels again the action lines make it clear that Tsurugi is swinging his arm backwards and getting ready to attack and hasn't attacked yet unlike Yuji who has already unleashed his attack.
There the other plot hole . Why would Tsurugi attack the curse spirits in the first place? Tsurugi goal in this fight is to kill Maru and he is bloodlusted in this fight and only changes his mind at the very end. If he was capable of unleashing an attack like that why wouldn't he aim it at Maru instead of the curse spirits? If he was capable of an attack like that why didn't he do it again and kill Maru why he was stunned by the curse spirits dying instead of swinging such a weak attack that he could barely cut through a rock? It makes no sense.
Then there's another nother plot hole of if Rika's output was that high why didn't she kill Maru on the first hit? We know that your CE output directly effects your stats so if Rika was capable of an attack like that her first punch should have splattered Maru but he tanked it with no damage. Also how did her output get that high in the first place? As far we know your output is something you're born with and can't be increased unless you black flash. Rika has never landed a black flash in the story and Yuta only done it once. So did she possibly manage to increase her output to such and insane degree in the first place? We know Yuji can black flash at will so his output being this high makes perfect sense but there's no explanation for Rika.
Yuji said that he would take care of all of the curse spirits, not some of them not half, but ALL. Why would Yuji say that then only kill half of the curse spirits? Tsurugi making the explosion causes like 10 plotholes in the story that there's no way to explain but if Yuji caused both of the explosion the entire chapter flows perfectly logically and theres not a single plot hole in the story.
