Respect Metroplex (Transformers, Marvel Comics)

#Respect Metroplex

> "What have you done? A self-destruct device?"

> "Not exactly. You see, the reason why Autobot City is able to transform... is that its core is a living being — a Transformer! All I did was wake him up! General, may I introduce... METROPLEX!"

Metroplex was the largest Autobot on record at just under 700 feet in height. Entirely too large to wander Earth freely, Metroplex accepted without complaint the role he was assigned: that of the "living core" of Autobot City. Built into the very fabric of the city upon its creation in 2003, Metroplex lay dormant beneath its surface, endowing it with the ability to transform from city mode into a heavily armed battle station.

In 2008, when the Quintessons invaded and took control of Autobot City as a part of a complex, multi-pronged plan to take over Cybertron, only a few Autobots were able to avoid capture. Rodimus Prime, temporarily reverted to Hot Rod, was one of the lucky few, and managed to activate Metroplex. The towering Autobot tore his way out from beneath the city and, already in a bad mood over being so rudely awakened, immediately began smashing and blasting the Quintessons that started attacking him. The fight was distinctly one-sided, and before long, Metroplex had successfully driven the invading aliens off. Alas, as Autobot City was largely gutted when Metroplex emerged, it was something of a pyrrhic victory for the Autobots.

> #"Not all."

> "But surely the 'Cons would have focused on you. They must have sent an army to take you down, how did you survive?"

> #"I am Omega Supreme."

Omega Supreme was once the leader of the Omega Sentinels, Cybertron's greatest protectors and weapons in ancient times. But after the days of the Primes came to an end the Sentinels began to slowly vanish, with Omega retreating underground to guard over the Crystal City. When the then-current ruler of Cybertron, Nova Prime, found Omega he brought him back to the surface to live with the people. But Omega disagreed with Nova's ideas of colonization and expansion and stayed behind when he and his allies left Cybertron on the first Ark, waiting for their return so he could kill them. Millions of years later Omega was found again by Optimus Prime, whose noble intentions convinced Omega to join his Autobots in their war against the Decepticons. Omega was one of the Autobots' most powerful members, capable of fighting off entire squadrons of Decepticons on his own. But this would make him a target and soon after the war's end he was put in a coma by a Decepticon attack, eventually dying to his injuries while his body was destroyed by the planet eater Unicron.

#Respect Scorponok

> “Scorponok…what have you done?”

> "I have broken the locks. Released the chains. And roused a wrath so terrible…that this world will never be the same. You are witnessing the dawn of a new age…where the Decepticon ideal – survival of the fittest – will reign for a thousand generations! The purer world Megatron once envisioned could never have been won through political control or subversion! It could never have blossomed upon the dessicated husk of our bloated society! No…the future we forge will be born of fire and terror. It will rise from the trampled ashes of the old world, and none shall stand against it. And in the face of utter ruin…the strong, at last, shall rise."

A former gladiator-turned warmonger, Scorponok was one of Megatron's first Decepticons and one of the most deadly. Power-hungry and sadistic, Scorponok is obsessed with the idea of combining Cybertronian technology with organic life. This has brought him under the watch of the duly appointed Autobot enforcer Ultra Magnus on several occasions, most of which ended with Scorponok fleeing with his research while torching all evidence of his presence. But following one such meeting on the planet Nebulos Scorponok was wounded and eventually ended up on the planet Earth as no more than a severed head. At some point Scorponok met the human Abraham Dante, and over the next 20 years the pair created a company called the Machination and created a new method of merging a Transformer and human by experimenting on the Autobot Sunstreaker, calling the procedure the Headmaster process. However, before Scorponok's plans could come to fruition he came into conflict with the Autobot team the Dynobots, the Decepticon Shockwave, and Ultra Magnus, who shut down the Machination and captured him.

> "The ship...so big...so complicated...so much to control...my mind...have to...maintain control...no matter what...my crew...the miners...they need me...they need the power of Fortress Tiberius!"

When humanity began World War III and drained the Earth's resources the Autobots had to leave their adopted world behind. Gathering in the Titan Fortress Maximus and leaving for the stars in search of a new world and fuel source, the Autobots drifted through space for decades until they were attacked by the Decepticons in their own Titan, the robotic dinosaur Trypticon. During the ensuing battle both Titans crash landed on a remote planet and both sides were left dormant for the next several centuries. But when a Federation mining operation began on the planet the Transformers were awoken and began their war again. After the crew of the USS Enterprise arrived on the planet and met the Autobots deep underground the Autobot medic Ratchet came up with a plan that would help them defeat the Decepticons and their new Klingon allies. With their equipment the Autobots and Starfleet officers had Captain Kirk merge minds with Fort Max to form a new Titan: Fortress Tiberius.

Respect Sixshot (Transformers, IDW Comics [2005])

#Respect Sixshot

> "I'm Sixshot. I was made to destroy. Controlled carnage and detached devastation define my existence. When I'm stood down, inactive... time crawls. My fellow Decepticons avoid me, shun me. I scare them, almost as much as I do the Autobots I'm occasionally turned loose on. Around me… there's always collateral damage."

> “In the lulls, there's nothing to distract me from a void I can never hope to fill. I feel… nothing. Not rage. Not duty. Not even a sense of self. It's not me staring into the abyss. I am the abyss."

The Decepticon cause is filled with many of the strongest and most brutal Transformers to ever live. But among the likes of Scorponok, Shockwave, and even Megatron himself, Sixshot is quite possibly the most powerful one of them all. Born a Point-One Percenter and possessing 6 different forms, Sixshot was chosen by Megatron to be a member of his personal guard, the Warriors Elite, and was eventually selected to be a Phase Sixer (where he would raze entire worlds so they could be cyberformed by the Decepticons later). But Sixshot's strength soon became his curse, with no other Decepticons wanting to be near him because they were terrified of him (except a small and insane group of fanatics called the Terrorcons, who Sixshot does not like).

But don't feel too bad for him. Sixshot loves nothing more than the feeling of worlds burning at his hand, with his enemies crushed under his heel. A quick death is the best you can hope for anyone unfortunate enough to meet him.

Respect Brother Raymond "Heavy" Harris (The Power Fantasy)

> "Another leftist Superpower means a more leftist world. The arc of justice bends any way you fucking bend it."

When the first atomic bomb test went off the world was changed forever. An angel was delivered from heaven to save humanity from themselves. Magic began seeping into reality, allowing those who had the proper knowledge to become mages. And some people, almost at random, began to develop superhuman powers. Soon known as Atomics, these people were quickly oppressed by the general population. But not all Atomics were willing to just lie down and take it from a world that hated and feared them. One of those Atomics was Brother Ray Harris, aka Heavy.

With the ability to control and manipulate gravity on a ridiculous scale, Heavy was quickly recognised as a Superpower and became the face of Atomics across the world. But after years of killing his political enemies, surviving failed assassinations and a meeting with an Atomic that could see the future Heavy realized that while he was a nuclear deterrent, if he was killed the Atomics would lose any semblance of protection they had. Soon afterwards Heavy founded Haven, his own floating nation for Atomics, in order to protect them and create his contingency plan: his son and all-new Superpower, Kid Ignition.

With the boy having no other family members the doctor who delivered him considered letting him die to save him from spending the rest of his life in a hospital bed... and then didn't. Then when the hospital's head doctor saw how much keeping the boy alive was costing and tried to pull the plug... he didn't. Every time someone tried to prematurely end his life over the years they found themselves suddenly changing their minds at the last minute. This was because the boy was actually an Atomic, a person born with super powers, and was the most powerful telepath alive.

As he grew up and left the hospital the boy took the name Etienne Lux, beginning his attempt to make the world a better place in the most ethical way possible. Soon he met others with powers like him called Superpowers and formed an uneasy alliance with them to prevent causing mutually assured destruction to all of humanity. > "I'm going to be your adversary. Not now, but one day. I'm going to be the opposition. If this is Eden, I'm going to be the serpent. And you're going to say yes. Because you need me."

In the 1950s a division of the British government called the Spookshow began Project Zarathustra, an attempt to create superhuman soldiers using alien technology under the command of Doctor Emil Gargunza. They kidnapped three orphaned boys to use as test subjects: Michael Moran, Johnathan Bates, and Richard "Dickie" Dauntless. The Spookshow grew clones of the boys that they could transform into by speaking an implanted code word and kept docile by being put into comas where they dreamt they were the Miracleman Family, comic book heroes and defenders of peace and democracy.

Although the Miraclemen exceeded the government's expectations, an incident with Gargunza and fears that they couldn't control their man-made gods made the Spookshow deem the project a failure and in 1963 they attempted to kill the trio with an atomic bomb. While Moran and Bates were able to survive Dickie wasn't so lucky and was killed in the blast, his bodies getting violently merged together in the explosion.

Forty years later Dickie was resurrected by Miracleman, who had since taken over the planet and ruled it alongside a pantheon of other superhumans as a god-king. While Miracleman tried to slowly acclimate Dickie to the new world the culture shock and an incident with Miracleman caused Dickie to flee his new home. After seeing the problems with Miracleman's utopia and reliving his past trauma Dickie decided that Miracleman needed to be kept in check, and he'd be the one to do so. He would become his adversary, the counterweight there to guide people away from his false gods and sinister utopia.

> "Oh, the shame... Piccolo the great...the incorruptible evil...saving a child...how pathetic. Heh heh heh...."

> "It's...it's because of you...and your dad...your softness...infecting me..."

> "But...you know, boy...you were the only one...who ever...ever really talked to me...the couple of months...I spent with you...weren't really...so bad..."

> "...Gohan...don't die..."

The dreaded Demon King Piccolo. The split off evil half of the Namekian Kami, he ruled humanity with an iron fist before his defeat and imprisonment. Sealed away for centuries, he was freed by a trio of foolish criminals and spread terror across the globe once again before coming into conflict with the young warrior Son Goku. The pair battled for the fate of the world, with the fight ultimately ending with Goku punching a gaping hole through his foe's chest. But even death wouldn't stop Piccolo. With the last of his strength he spat out an egg containing his son, a reincarnation of himself that would avenge his father's death.

Three years later Piccolo Jr emerged at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, intent on killing Goku and retaking his throne. After making his way through the tournament he faced off against Goku in a brutal finals match, with both warriors using everything they had in their attempt to win. But while Piccolo fought hard he was ultimately outclassed, getting defeated by a flying headbutt from Goku. This time Goku let him go though, hoping Piccolo would get strong enough for a rematch.

After five years Piccolo met Raditz, a member of the barbaric Saiyan race and Goku's brother. Too powerful for either of them to defeat alone, Goku and Piccolo teamed up to fight Raditz after he kidnapped Goku's son, Gohan. The pair just barely won the fight thanks to Piccolo's newest technique, though Goku was also killed in the process. Learning that Raditz had alerted two more saiyans that were even more powerful than him, Piccolo kidnapped Gohan in hopes of training him to defeat the Saiyans.

One year later the Saiyans, Nappa and Vegeta, arrived on Earth. The Earth's defenders were utterly crushed by just one of the duo, dying one by one without even harming him. But when Nappa fired a blast at Gohan in an attempt to kill him Piccolo dived in front of the blast, giving his own life to save Gohan's.

Piccolo was soon brought back to life by the Dragon Balls, continuing to defend the Earth from threats like Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu alongside the rest of the Z Fighters. After many years he began training Pan, Gohan's daughter, in how to fight, and even ended up gaining a new power for himself while battling the returned Red Ribbon Army and their new Androids, Gamma 1 and 2.
