Neighbor fired weapon into my home
Location: Ohio
Neighbor discharged firearm in his back yard (does not have the required space, or a backstop. We are in a township) the round passed through my garage and it landed in the outside wall of my home. The neighbor is a family of three, mom, dad, son. Son was the one who fired at my home. He is an adult.
We were on good terms with the family and they made contact with us today to have a private meeting regarding the incident. I thought you werent supposed to discuss these things between parties. I think they want to try to talk me out of pressing charges against their son.
I am supposed to rely on city prosecutor to handle all this, but ive tried calling them and they havent returned my calls.
What do i say to the parents? Am i supposed to ignore them? I dont want to talk to them, but im hoping there is an official reason i can cite.
Does anyone have any advice for navigating things with the prosecutor?

police report was made immediately after the incident.
Please dont suggest I talk to them. I dont want to talk to them. They almost killed me.
