So let's talk about it.

So I genuinely think that you should stay in the hospital after your seton surgery for two days. I know we all want to go home and try to relax in our beds but hear me out.

I stayed in the hospital for like 2 and half days after my seton placement. Mind you I was also getting abcesses drained as well. I went through some of the weirdest and most soul draining experiences after it. One being shitting myself while still wrapped in surgical dressing and tape to have a makeshift diaper of sorts WHICH my damn surgeon didn't explain how to take the hell off. (Tbf that surgeon irritated the shit out of me how he talked to me and didn't clearly explain jack shit.)

Anyway that night I broke down so hard that I cried in tears and my nurse (THANK GOD FOR HIS PATIENCE) cleaned me up and changed my dressing. If i was home, I would be broken toward all compare. I just feel like this isn't a "Put it in and go home" type of surgery. Mind you it is different for a lot of people. Like I said, I had abscess drained and had setons put in.

Have any of yall had moments or thoughts like I don't want to be dealing with this alone? I just want to hear people's thoughts and experiences because I want to know if others have even had this thought.

Itching and Farts

Oh my God. The itching I've been having after my seton placement and drainage for abcesses is insane. Also I don't if this is something people have experienced but when I fart, I don't know if it's from my anus or one of my seton openings. Sweet Jesus this is crazy.

It finally happened

Well I finally got treatment for my fistula while I was in the hospital. I had 2 setons placed while they did an EUA. It's the first day so we're about to go through it all. They did tell me it was extremely inflamed down there which I assumed with all of my pain. I will say this tho I feel so much better than how I've felt. Here's to recovery.

Also to note, I have Crohn's disease and I am in a flare up. The main reason I've been struggling probably. They're more than likely going to put me on dual biologic.
