July is still spring in the alpine areas of Glacier National Park which is currently in full bloom.

July is still spring in the alpine areas of Glacier National Park which is currently in full bloom.
Hiked the Highline Trail last Friday 7/17.
I was on the 8 am shuttle out of Rising Sun and there were only 13 people on a 30 passenger bus.
The hike took a full 8 hours with a few rest stops and pauses for hundreds of pictures.
The hike down from Granite Park was miserable in full sunshine and 85°F afternoon temperatures. Knowing what I know know I would have turned around at the saddle and backtracked to save myself a lot of misery and not miss out of many additional views.
Then there was a 45 minute wait at The Loop for a shuttle to Logan Pass and then another hour wait at Logan Pass for the shuttle back to Rising Sun which made for a long day.
Over the course of 7 days managed to get in 40.5 miles of hiking.
The wild flowers on the last mile of the Iceberg Lake trail are insane right now.
