Flying large dogs in baggage
I booked a flight Amsterdam to Calgary with KLM two weeks ago and called to add my two large dogs to the booking in the baggage hold (one in 40", one in 48" crates). I noticed on my bank account the other day that the flight had been refunded to my card so I called and they said I had requested a refund on the booking. I definitely hadn't and still wanted to fly! So I rebooked and the agent again submitted the pet request. I checked this morning and the pet request was denied. I called and they said they couldn't see any reason why the pet request was denied as there was space on the plane. She has resubmitted the request, and has emailed the special reservations team, but now I am so anxious. What do I do if it gets denied again? I have to fly to Calgary on that date with my two dogs as I'm starting a new job, and I've already booked other international travel to get to Amsterdam for the flight. Has anyone else been through something similiar? Are they likely to get approved this time around? This is just making everything so much more stressful!
