You mean it was just a yeast infection?

So for close to 2 years I’ve been experiencing an itch that wouldn’t go away. Omg it was the worse and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. The first time I noticed I of course assumed it was a yeast infection based on the symptoms , itchy, discharge and burning. The treatment I used was suppository of some sort. I don’t use boric acid just based on my personal research. I do like to use holistic and/or all natural products to treat anything health related. So I did the same in this case. I went to the doctor after the itch wouldn’t go away. They confirmed it was yeast and gave me fluconzale the pill form. It helped a little but then came back to which now I’m thinking that it’s an std. this thought or assumption took a toll on my mental health to which I believe I fell into a depression. I was thinking it was hpv or hsv to which all tests came back negative for. I tested positive for ureaplasma so I found some relief ironically because each time I would get an std or infection test everything would be negative. My doc would prescribe antibiotics for the ureaplasma and I went to get tested shortly after that because the medicine helped but the itchiness came right back . Or really never went away. Just minimized it. So I kept going back and forth to the doc and she was confused on what it could be if tests were coming back negative . She finally suggested a biopsy to test for hpv(warts) and lichen schlerosis (sp?). They both came back negative. I decided to get a sefvond opinion as the doctor I was currently going to couldn’t figure out what was going on nor had any other suggestions and I felt like I was bothering them lowkey. So the other doctor I went to was amazing and listened to all of my concerns and immediately suggested treating it as a yeast infection even though it wasn’t showing up in the panel. She also suggested if that doesn’t work she thought estrogen cream would help. She prescribed me terconazale cream. Now let me tell you about this. The first time I took this I lost hope two days before I was to complete medication because it seemed the itching was getting worse so I stopped it. So that night instead of doing the treatment I treated the symptoms of itchiness instead.( eumaid in the red container and haya herbs yoni oil was my holy grail during this whole journey of constant itchiness as it would relieve it for at least 2-3 days. ) so anyhow, after that treatment all of a sudden my vagina felt somewhat normal with little to no itching. It almost felt abnormal as I’ve been dealing with this for about 2 years. So I was thinking that maybe I should have finished the medication because my vagina has never itched the way it did before i took the terconazole. I finally had some relief. So now, I told my doc the whole deal and thinking maybe I should do another round of treatment and stick it out the whole way..so she prescribed more . I am currently on treatment and feel so much relief. I was thinking that this was an incurable or hard to treat thing and come to find out it was just a yeast infection that seemingly wasn’t showing up on my on my panel. Or if it’s not yeast, it’s some kind of fungus as that’s what terconazale treats. So I posted this to hopefully calm some other ladies concerns about what they may be experiencing and continue to advocate for your health and ask/tell your doctor what treatment you prefer. Be safe ladies!
