When will City Leaders Eliminate the Homeless from Downtown Portland?

I just read the “SeeFixClick” website and see the latest posts are all about used needles in public areas. When will the City move the folks leaving these needles to the HSC (the very expensive homeless services center). I am so tired of my property taxes being spent on enabling drug addicts. I realize, as the City and social workers state, that dealing with the homeless is a “multifaceted issue”, but please, let me walk Congress Street without having endless folks beg for money. I

BTW, I have owned and lived in my North Deering condo for over 40 years. I once worked for 10 years at the intersection of Elm and Preble Streets. At that time, I thought people using the F bomb repeatedly while walking under my office window and folks smoking pot on our entranceway was disgusting. I’ve never seen the City devolve as much as it is now.

Bayou Kitchen — Closed Temporarily?!

I attempted to dine at the Bayou Kitchen earlier today. Instead of the usual welcoming presence I found a locked door with a small piece of masking tape over the “hours” sign stating that they were temporarily closed.

Anyone know what’s going on? I sure hope the employees are on a temporary vacation and this is not an ominous sign that they are closing,
