Why I think many digital marketing agencies are killing themselves

I read an article saying digital marketing agencies are slowly dying because AI and platforms like Google and Meta are starting to replace a lot of the work agencies used to do.

A lot of agencies focus heavily on sales. The people talking to clients are usually really good at selling services, making promises, and bringing in deals, but many of them don’t actually know how the technical work really works behind the scenes. Then the actual work like building websites, running ads, email marketing, or creating content is handled by a completely different group of people, and sometimes even outsourced.

A lot of business owners think they are paying for a full expert team, but many agencies charge huge fees while paying outsourced freelancers or employees pennies to do the actual work. That often leads to low quality work, weak results, or agencies overpromising what they can really deliver.

Now Google and Meta are building more AI tools that can already optimize ads, automate campaigns, and make advertising easier directly on their platforms. It feels like they are slowly reducing the need for middlemen.
