Context: I have been accepted to school X in December and paid deposit in January. In May, I was accepted to school Y. I only can afford school Y if I receive a scholarship, but the application to this scholarship is only available to me if I pay the deposit.

My question is, can I pay the deposit for school Y while holding my seat at school X? Do the schools communicate with each other regarding this?
