Masters School Decision from Newly Graduated Undergrad.
Hello everyone,
I am currently in a bit of a debacle and could use some advice. I am currently between two different schools, Texas A&M and the University of Michigan, for my master's in structural engineering. I am interested in high-rise building design, and I have an internship lined up with one of the big high-rise design firms this summer that would continue into a full-time position after I get my master's before I start my degree. I am having a hard time choosing between schools and would appreciate any help or advice about which way to go.
I took two master's courses in my undergrad and will be transferring them to each university, so I would need to complete 24 credits at A&M and 20 at UofM. I am in the Northeast and would like to do building design in NYC. My estimated Cost of attendance for Texas A&M would be $45000, and UofM would be $96000, and I would prefer not to take out a crazy amount of loans.
My main issue is that I'm not sure if I would have a hard time finding a job in the Northeast if I were to go to A&M, while my advisors and professors at my undergrad program said I shouldn't have a program based on my experience with internships and research positions.
I would appreciate any advice, and if you have completed a master's at either program, I would appreciate learning about your experience. Thank you!
