Homeless w| 3 kids
Saw someone else post this so I figured I post for resources but also to let you know you’re not alone… My family & I are currently facing homelessness due to having an eviction & not being able to get approved by landlords. I called 211 & they offered CAN whom said once all my belongings are in my vehicle & it’s parked somewhere someone from the outreach team will come & do a check & place me on the shelter waiting list. They then followed up with saying because I am employed I may not qualify for a shelter. I called many nonprofits explained I have 3 children we have nowhere to go barely making it to pay Airbnbs & they all have said they are out of funding. I asked if I could get a case manager & potentially get section 8 or housing & everyone tells me they don’t offer it or they’re passing me off to the next person. I’m leaving constant voicemails & no one gets back to me. It’s super stressful especially the lack of resources the state has to offer. It’s no one’s fault but my own I got here but it definitely does suck that the hell is very limited.
If anyone in the Hartford area is willing to rent & allow for me to pay the security slowly every 2 weeks I’d appreciate it so much! If anyone knows any other resources I haven’t tapped into yet I’d appreciate that as well. Thank you!!!
