I applied for a persecution waiver in September 2024, and it’s still pending. Many people withdrew it because of delay and current h1b status and proceeded with the regular 2-year home residency waiver instead.

Since I could work under my spouse’s EAD sponsorship after approval, I decided to continue. However, my training ends in july. I still haven’t signed a contract because I’m waiting for the I-612 decision.

At this point, would it be better to sign a 1-year fellowship to maintain my J-1 status (expiring in august) or continue waiting for the result? Is anyone else in a similar situation?any guidance would be appreciated it’s a stressful situation for me.
