Car damaged by rotted tree limb
Hello all, a few days ago a tree limb damaged my parents car. The tree is on a rental property and it has been previously reported for limbs falling. The main damage was to the sunroof, it pushed it in and now the seal is broken so rain is getting in.
My landlords said they aren’t responsible and to contact our insurance, but we have previous documentation of complaints about this tree, photo evidence of the limb (which was completely rotted) and on top of all of that we have video of the tree limb falling on the car.
Is this really something that I have to contact insurance about or is this a landlord responsibility? My parents do not have comprehensive coverage so basically insurance is out of the question on my end. How the heck are we responsible?
