Foam rollers OK to use with osteoporosis?

I often see foam rollers recommended for tight hamstrings and calves. I have also seen cautions about seniors or people with severe osteoporosis using them. I am in both categories. Anyone have experience to share? I'm assuming I'd be getting a soft or medium density roller and using it only on my legs, not back or neck. Thanks for any feedback!

Acceptable exercise with osteporosis?

My MD told me this morning that I am mistaken in thinking that you must avoid arching your back if you have osteoporosis. No toe touching, no back bends, no sit ups, etc. I was diagnosed 6 years ago and every source I've ever seen on exercise with osteoporosis includes this strong warning against flexing the spine. Is my doc wrong, or is there some nuance here that I'm missing? Thanks for any responses!
