Hi! My fiance and I are looking to host a large ~200 person cocktail party in Fall 2027 following a small ceremony a few months before. We want to choose our own caterer and don't want to go with a venue that makes you go with their own in house caterer. I'd also LOVE some indoor/outdoor space and not too far from the city (20-30 min uber). Any ideas?? Here's what we've found so far:
Bordone LIC - amazing space, might be too big for 200 people cocktail reception and might get pricy, but otherwise lovely
Sound River Studios - awesome space. They make you go with their bar services but otherwise can bring in your own caterer
Vintage Green, Wilson, and Liberty Warehouse - need to use their own caterer, so those are out
Any other ideas?
Also - perhaps a random question - if anyone got married at Bordone LIC or SRS or another similar "raw space" venue...what does the furniture rental experience/budget even look like? For like some couches and cocktail tables, a few dining tables, etc.
