I love Wales. This was my second visit and my first as a solo traveller, and it left me with a sense of fulfilment that’s difficult to put into words. I had set out with the simple intention of hiking Pen y Fan, but what truly defined the experience was something far less tangible: the people.
There is a quiet grace to the Welsh, an ease in their kindness, a humility, a genuine warmth that reveals itself in the smallest interactions. It’s rare, and deeply felt.
Next on my list is to climb the other two highest peaks, Snowdon and Cadair Idris, and I can’t wait!
And a big shoutout to the hosts at The Black Mountain Lodge, Glasbury for being so Welsh (will use it as a synonym for the kindest, sweetest, warmest people) 😊
