Budget $1500 in US - Laptop that's quite in classrooms but doesn't overheat and can handle Elden Ring/similar games

  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: $1500 US
  • Are you open to refurbs/used? yes
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? performance > battery life > build quality > form factor
  • How important is weight and thinness to you? As long as it's not some big, thick alienware type laptop, Lenovo LOQ 15 is like the biggest/thickest I'd get
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Anything from 11.6 to 15.6
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I have to run virtual machines for school/work, I mod games, play games, I might need to use Unity too, I've used FL Studio too for fun, but if it can run virtual machines, it can probably run FL Studio
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Dark souls, Elden Ring, Lords of the Fallen, Subnautica. What's really important is that I can play these games split screen via Nucleus Co-Op. Oh and also I know laptops aren't good for it, but if it can run the ps3/4 emulators (RPCS3 and SHADPS4) that would be amazing, I'm trying to play demon's souls and Bloodborne with those. Settings can be low quality as long as it's 60 fps, but should be good resolution like 1080p and higher.
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? None of those are needed except for hdmi port, at least 1 USB port, and a headphone jack. Also not preferred if the keyboard backlighting isn't too flashy, or if it is, at least able to turn it off or make it subtle.
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I need like 32 gb ram. And maybe it's not as important because I'll be out of school, but i'd like if it's quiet when Im not running anything crazy, should only turn up when I'm gaming or running a lot of things. Im saying that because the fan on my laptop immediately starts spinning like crazy when I boot it. But also cooling is important because the laptop (and even the charge) overheats baddd and I can smell it.

Thank you so much in advance!!!
